Theory of Relativity Background Information:
In the year 1915, a young scientist named Albert Einstein created one of the two essential documents concerning the Theory of Relativity.he Theory of Relativity is based on the principle that all motion is relative to other objects in motion. Objects move in respect to one another. The point of this theory was to try to identify the flaws between the laws of relativity and the law of gravity. Albert Einstein disagreed with Newton's Laws because he said that all forces are due to changes in acceleration. Albert Einstein split the Theory of Relativity into special and general relativity. Special Relativity was developed to demonstrate the impact of inertial frames of reference on motion; this aspect of the Theory shows that physical law portrays itself in the same form for every inertial frame. The other part of the Theory of Relativity is General Relativity. General Relativity describes gravity in relation to certain physics concepts. It combines Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation with theories discovered by Albert Einstein. The Theory of Relativity is a very complicated aspect of modern physics and continues to be interpreted even to this day. Below are three ways the theory of relativity have influenced today's world.

Cosmology
A major influence by Einstein's theory of relativity was the field of cosmology. Cosmology is the effect of gravity on the universe as a whole. When the theory was first created no one had an idea what a break through he actually made. His theory explained also had to deal with how black holes were created in space. As Einstein’s theory explains is that whenever a star is about to die it must give off its nuclear fuel. According to the theory when a dying star reaches a mass 3 times greater then the sun, the star cannot withstand any more pressure which then causes it to collapse creating a black hole. Ironically, Einstein himself did not believe in the existence of black holes, even though they were predicted by his theory (Lightman 1).

Physics Another science field that was greatly impacted by the theory of relativity was physics. Albert Einstein’s theory describes some events that most people find a hard time even believing. His theories explain the interaction between time and space, matter, and energy. For example one person can observe that 2 events happen at the same time, but another person can observe that the same 2 events occur at totally different times. His theory is showing that matter as the ability to turn into energy, and energy has the ability to turn into matter. They are two of the "foundation blocks" upon which modern physics were built on (Dine 1).

GPS Tracking Device The theory of relativity is used by many on a day-to-day basis without even knowing it. For example all GPS throughout the world are synchronized using
the rules of relativity. Every time someone uses a GPS relativity equations are being processed to show you your exact position and time. Sources of transportation are highly dependent on this system. The U.S military uses GPS for nearly every vehicle used in combat and everyday use. If it weren't for the theory of relativity this amazing piece of technology would not be reliable. The GPS is another way to prove that Einstein was correct in his findings. (Hans Arora)
I chose to utilize the first site because of its extensive explanations of the theory and the great examples it had within it. It also had great pictures and diagrams that showed a physical aspect to the theory.
I chose the second site because I knew all the information was valid because the source of it was NASA. I also chose it because it had real life examples that actually happened in space and through tests they have run.
I chose the third site because of the extensive and well written paragraph on how this theory has effected cosmology.
